This lodge has thought through every detail for its guests — from the friendly greeting and fresh juice upon arrival to the varied and exotic gamedrives planned in the park, to the inevitable moment you must pack up to say goodbye.
The tented cabins are the perfect combination of luxury meets wilderness. The bed linens are clean and crisp, the bathroom is well appointed with hot water and slippers and robes, and the outdoor patio area is amazing. The lodge is not gated — meaning animals can roam in and out — and while we didn’t see any hippos passing through we could certainly hear them at night, which is, obviously, incredible.
The main lodge area, where you have your meals and can gaze out at the lazy river, is spacious and airy and stocked with beautiful photography books about the park. The staff is attentive and friendly and the food is plentiful (think three courses for every meal). Also, last but certainly not least, the guides are incredibly informed about every species — plant or animal — that you may spot in the park. The entire experience, from top to bottom, was absolutely wonderful and we hope to return soon!
