I absolutely loved my stay at Ishasha Wilderness Camp – the only negative thing I have to say is that I only stayed for one night. I wish I could have stayed for longer. The staff were fantastic, very friendly, helpful and passionate about making a good impression on the guests.
I was greeted with a fresh juice and wet hand towel when I arrived and shown to my gorgeous tent. I loved that I had a view to the outside from every corner of the bedroom. The room was spacious and the bed was enormous. You can tell that the owners are doing all they can to make the camp sustainable, from providing fresh drinking water (not plastic bottles) to the beautiful bath products. I particularly enjoyed the hot shower which was hot water delivered to my room! The food was fantastic (four courses… definitely didn’t go hungry!) but the standout was the Sundowner that my guide had arranged for me. The Ishasha team set up a bar on top of an escarpment with an incredible view at sunset. They had thought of everything – books on animals and birds so I could look up any wildlife I saw, an array of beverages, snacks, even a toilet! The whole experience of staying at Ishasha was incredible, and I hope that I can return again one day soon!
